Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts
(Completed Project - 2005)
The aftermath of Hurricane Katrina has left hundreds of thousands of people stranded and many are now homeless because of the vast destruction of the storm and its flooding. GAiN Canada is working in coordination with GAiN USA and its partners to supply compassionate help and hope for many of the victims of Katrina. Already, supplies such as juice, clothing, ice, soup and other food items are being transported for distribution in churches, camps, and other places of shelter for displaced people who have been left homeless.
The plan was to purchase, assemble and distribute up to 30,000 Care Packs through our partners and local volunteer teams. Each pack included essential food and hygiene items.
Your generous gift to Hurricane Katrina Relief enabled us to respond in providing critical necessities such as food, drinking water, toiletries, bedding and other needs related to temporary shelter.
