Ca-Ira container has arrived
On April 23rd, 2013, in Abbotsford, BC, GAiN, in partnership with many volunteers and donors, loaded a container destined for the Ca-Ira orphanage in Leaogan, Haiti, full of electrical, food, medical, educational, and clothing supplies. We are excited and thankful that the container arrived safely in Haiti and we have unloaded the contents of the container June 2nd at Ca-Ira.
With the strenuous help of ten young adults from the orphanage (as well as several “Blancs”, as we North Americans and Europeans are affectionately called by Haitians), we unloaded the container over the course of the next two-and-a-half hours! We were able to confirm that, with the exception of one tricycle and one kitchen sink, all of the supplies have arrived safely.
Everyone in Haiti thanks GAiN and the many partners and donors who made this shipment possible! The contents of the containers are especially important for the re-building of the boys’ and girls’ dormitories.
