Paraguay Multi-Purpose Project - August 5-16, 2015

For people living in rural Paraguay, life is hard. Sometimes, so little money can be made from farming that they uproot their families and move to the capitol city, Asunción, in hopes of finding work. Often, what they find is unfamiliar faces, more hardship, little work, and tension-filled streets.

We have been working with the local church to demonstrate the love of God through providing food to over 350 nutrition stations, providing daily hot meals for those in need in varying barrios throughout Asuncion.

We have also recently begun to work with Diaconia, a micro-finance enterprise who is providing loans to women in need, many of those who are mothers of children being fed through the nutrition stations.

This August, a team will be travelling to Paraguay to serve alongside the ongoing work of the nutrition stations. The team will be involved in some or all of the following activities:

  • serving meals to impoverished families alongside the nutrition station teams
  • training the children in the basics of hygiene and sanitation
  • conducting sports activities and games for the children at the nutrition stations
  • a needed construction project at one nutrition station (could be concrete work or painting)
  • participating in community outreach programs, in partnership with DRIME Paraguay
  • teaching basic budgeting and finance principles to Diaconia lending groups
  • participating in a showing of the JESUS film, in partnership with the JESUS Film Church Planting Strategy

Come and join us in Paraguay!
