Reveal hope and restore life to those in need
When Global Aid Network (GAiN) provided a deep-capped water well for Kpakpalakpenou, children were able to fetch accessible and safe water within their own village for the first time.
Emannuela is one of the youth from the village who was directly impacted by the water program. For her and others, not only is clean water now easier to get to, but a total of 201 people, including 140 children, learned basic hygiene practices and the importance of sanitation through a GAiN-led hygiene and sanitation training.
When the world was turned upside down by COVID-19 earlier this year, global health authorities stressed the importance of hygiene and sanitation, including frequent hand washing and sanitizing in order to prevent the spread of infection.
In countries like the ones we work in, access to safe water and soap can be hard to come by. In fact, one in three people do not have access to safe drinking water1 and two out of five people do not have a basic hand-washing facility with soap and water.2
While many countries are in the midst of a second wave of the coronavirus, lacking access to clean water and soap can put these communities at major risk when it comes to managing the pandemic.
Two months after Kpakpalakpenou received a well, GAiN partnered with an existing local church who engaged with the community to share Jesus and play a unique role in community development. They showed the JESUS film for the village, exposing 736 people to the Gospel and sharing the hope that can only be found in Jesus. Sixty-eight people made the decision to follow Jesus and 16 people attended a follow-up to learn more about their new faith.
As for the children and youth, their daily lives improved drastically.

We strive to see a world where people’s dignity and rights, like Emmanuela’s, are realized through access to basic water services, while churches actively participate in reversing the cycle of spiritual, physical, social and economic poverty. Our vision for GAiN's Water for Life Initiative is to build a world where human flourishing is restored and water poverty is eradicated through the power of the gospel.
For every $8.50, a child like Emmanuela will have access to clean water. We are raising $127,500 to provide approximately 15,000 villagers in 15 communities with safe water and the Living Water by end of this year.
Today, we would ask you to join us as we dream and plan for the Emmanuelas of the world to live out the God-given potential for their lives (John 10:10). Your donation could help improve, not only family life, but the overall quality of life for women, men and children. By giving the gift of water, you can help to dramatically reduce disease, improve local health services, restore broken families and reveal Jesus to those who need to know Him.
